About Axom TRANSMISSIONS

Located at 1001 E Saunders St, Laredo, TX 78041, Axom TRANSMISSIONS operates as an auto repair shop serving Laredo in Texas. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. The most common schedule is 10 am–7 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (956) 413-1731. My wife and I are very satisfied. He recommended us buying a new battery the one that the vehicle required and getting a transmission oil change because our traverse 2020 was not performing correctly now it runs smooth feels new again. We really thought the worst but he guide us through the right path. Thank you sir hundred percent recommendable.

Do not answer or return calls or messages. They told me that my transmission had a different sensor fault than what 3 other computer readouts at other locations showed. Same issue occurred again after I picked my truck up but they will not answer text or calls. I had to take my truck to a different shop and they said it looked like Axom had intalled a used sensor.

Do not recommend this place. I took in a 2004 Dodge Durango for a check up because the 3rd gear wasn't kicking in. I told the mechanic the issue he said they would complete overhaul the transmission with new parts. After about a week the mechanic called and said the truck was ready, I went to pick it up but took it for a test drive first and after they so called fixed it not only did 3rd gear not kick in but now 1st gear was misfiring. All in all I ended up paying $450 just so that they can mess up my transmission. Then after all was said and done they still had the audacity to say I still owed them money for the repair.

1 month later transmission went out. Now saying they need to check if it still under warranty. Really 1 month and still need to check if theres warranty. Took it in again and owner talked big shot that it wasnt his problem and that it wasnt a transmission problem and not his problem. Worst customer service ive ever experienced. Owner thinks he above everyone else and thinks he can talk down to anyone. Not with me. Gonna get a check up with reports of wrong doing. I took truck to dealership and was told transmission is out. Was told 1 month is too soon for a transmission to go out if really rebuilt. Wouldnt recommend to anyone. I would advice anyone to stay away from this place.

I brought in an extension housing from my 94 Chevys k1500 4L60 transmission. None of the bearings I bought from auto part stores would fit, or if they did the drive shaft wouldn’t go through. An employee took a look at it and said the housing itself was worn down. If I replaced the bearing, I’d still have the leak I was experiencing. He sold me a replacement for $40, and it fit and worked. My transmission gave out a few months later and they rebuilt it for about $800. It took them about a week.
